Morning: Visit the award-winning Gallery Oldham, for innovative, contemporary art and intriguing natural history collections. A great mix of events, live music and craft activities make it ideal for families, and 16 new exhibitions every year means there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
After a morning full of inspiration, enjoy a homemade lunch inspired by local and seasonal produce at Café Culture inside the Gallery.
Afternoon: Indulge in some retail therapy spending the afternoon at Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre; withover 80 retailers including major high street names your sure to find what you’re looking for. Enjoy afternoon tea in one of the cafés and admire the centre’s unique stained glass roof. Easy to get to by car or bus, there are two car parks with disabled parking facilities.
Alternatively, walk through the town to Oldham Coliseum Theatre for a backstage tour (pre-booking required) or matinee performance (Wednesday and Saturday). Originally ‘The Grand Circus’ this nationally recognised theatre has a history dating back to 1885, and has won critical acclaim for its highly ambitious productions.
Evening: After dinner in Oldham Town Centre, its curtains upwith a show at Oldham Coliseum, or one of the student showcases, exhibitions or events held at the Grange Arts Centre. Whatever you see, rest assured you’re in for a fantastic night out.
