Dobcross
Dobcross is one of the most attractive villages in the whole of the Pennines, with an abundance of weavers’ cottages, clothiers’, merchants’ houses and a village square which has remained virtually unchanged for 200 years.
Dobcross was the setting for the film ‘Yanks’ and is the birthplace of the giant Platt Brothers textile machinery business, which was once the largest machine making firm in the world.
