Whit Friday Brass Band Contests, Friday 1 June 2012
The Whit Friday Brass Band Contests take place every year in Saddleworth on the afternoon and evening of Whit Friday (Friday 1 June 2012) from around 4pm onwards.
The Band Contests date back to 1884 and are often described as “The greatest free show on earth” attracting spectators and musicians from all over the world. Every year dozens of Brass Bands compete in the picturesque villages of Saddleworth in this unique and traditional event.
