Description

75th Anniveray VE Day Parade and Celebration

Friday 8th May 2020

10:30 start for Parade

The Parade will start from the bus turning circle in Uppermill down High Street to the playing fields accompanied by a local brass band which will also play the hymns for a short remembrance service to commemorate the VE Day 75th anniversary. Everyone welcome to join the parade, including military vehicles.

The park is located off the High Street, Uppermill and can also be accessed via Wade Row and St. Marys Gate.

Although only a small park it is steeped in history, housing the site of the former 17th Century abbey. The park proves to be very popular as it also links up with the linear walks along the River Tame and the Huddersfield Canal.
