An open taster session for the Super 1's disability cricket programme, available for both signed up and new participants.
Super 1s is a Lord’s Taverners programme designed to give cricketing opportunities, both coaching and competitive, to young disabled people (12-25 year olds) via community based sessions. The programme aims to increase levels of confidence, communication, leadership and independence for disabled young people.
Lancashire Cricket Foundation currently have three community hubs delivering weekly cricketing opportunities. Hub sessions have a focus on personal development within the following strands - communication, confidence, leadership and independence.
Super 1s gives young people aged 12-25 with disabilities the chance to regularly play cricket. By creating community cricket hubs for young people to receive coaching from county cricket boards, participants have the chance to compete against peers and enjoy the benefits of sport and an active lifestyle.
For many young people with disabilities throughout the UK, opportunities to take part in regular competitive sport can be extremely limited. Super 1s provides these opportunities and helps young people to improve their physical and mental well-being while making friends and engaging with positive role models.
