Description

Millgate Night at the Proms

Millgate Arts Centre, Stonewood Road Delph

September 14th 2019 at 7pm

Celebrate the Millgate’s ‘Grand Re-opening’ and enjoy the newly refurbished auditorium by joining local soloists Mirriam Lawton, Martin Bradbury & friends for a rousing night of song! Everyone involved in performing and producing this evening’s ‘Millgate Night at the Proms’ show is very kindly donating their services to raise funds to support the Millgate Arts Centre.

We are extremely grateful to the Saddleworth Festival of the Arts, for generously supporting this evening’s show! Doors open at 6.00pm with a glass of bubbly on arrival. Expect a packed programme of live music featuring beautiful songs from your favourite Broadway and West End shows.

We will round the evening off in suitably rousing style by joining in with the revellers at the Royal Albert Hall for traditional flag-waving fun and sing-a-longs with the BBC’s Last Night of the Promsfinale on the big screen (Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britanniaetc.).

These concerts have proven to be firm favourites with Saddleworth audiences over the last few years and following the success of last year, Mirriam and Martin are able to bring old and new faces on board for another fabulous evening of musical favourites, supporting the Millgate in the process.

Vocalists: Mirriam Lawton, Martin Bradbury and more. Programme devised and created by Mirriam Lawton and Martin Bradbury.

Bookings can be made in person, by phone or online. The box office (at Delph Library) is open Tuesdays 2pm–5pm; Wednesdays  2pm–7pm; Thursdays 1pm-6pm and Fridays & Saturdays from 9:30am–1pm. The box office telephone number is 01457 874644. Tickets must be paid for at the time of booking. You can select your seats at the time of booking. Tickets are non-re-fundable.

Road Directions

The Millgate Arts Centre  is in the centre of Delph, which is one of the beautiful, historic villages that make up the district of Saddleworth - the little slice of Yorkshire that is in the north-eastern part of Greater Manchester (Oldham) that creeps up into foothills the Pennines.

The Millgate Arts Centre is about 12 miles from the centre of Manchester and lies just off the A62, about half way between Manchester and Huddersfield.

Coming from Manchester or Oldham on the A62, about half a mile after passing Albion Farm Shop and Cafe on your left,  turn left at The Sound (just before The Old Bell Inn). You will find the Millgate on your left in the centre of the village, opposite the free public car park on Millgate.

It is not far from the M62 motorway - about 5 miles from either Junction 21 (Milnrow)  or  Junction 22 (Saddleworth) towards Oldham/Manchester.
