Description
Dillie Keane – love and other bad ideas
Millgate Arts Centre, Stonewood Road Delph
October 11th 2019 at 8pm
After some gardening leave, Fascinating Aïda’s Dillie Keane is back where she belongs – on a cabaret stage, accompanied by the marvellous Michael Roulston. Her take on life and love is cheerfully sour, gently savage and peculiarly mordant – but the beautiful music softens the effect. She freely admits she has a voice like a dying crow being crushed beneath an angry sheep, but that’s never stopped her. In fact, she will be singing some perfectly wonderful songs by other songwriters which she recently discovered in New York. As well as a raft of her own songs too, of course. A delightful evening.

The Millgate Arts Centre is about 12 miles from the centre of Manchester and lies just off the A62, about half way between Manchester and Huddersfield.
Coming from Manchester or Oldham on the A62, about half a mile after passing Albion Farm Shop and Cafe on your left, turn left at The Sound (just before The Old Bell Inn). You will find the Millgate on your left in the centre of the village, opposite the free public car park on Millgate.
