Description

OMA Transformation Party

Saturday 30 November, 1 – 4pm

Gallery Oldham and Local Studies and Archives

Come along with the family for a day of exciting activities to celebrate the plans for OMA – the new Heritage and Arts Centre – and the 25th anniversary of the National Lottery.

The Transformation Party will run from 1-4pm on Saturday 30 November. The range of activities on offer include…

 - Behind the scenes tours to see the art collections and natural history collections of Gallery Oldham. Numbers are limited so please book on EventBrite: www.eventbrite.com/e/tour-of-the-natural-history-store-tickets-81763000335

 - A special display of the OMA building plans at Oldham Local Studies and Archives. There will also be a chance to see a digital flythrough of what the new OMA building will look like. And a couple of special historic items from the original old library will be on display.

 - Songwriter Jay Stansfield will be in the building. Add your ideas or voice to the lyrics to help him to create a new song about Oldham and OMA.

= A sunny day makes us all happier but did you know that the sun is also great for making prints. Join artist Alison Cooper to create some super sun prints inspired by the intricate drawings of the old building.

- Take a glimpse at the incredible 3D scans created by students from Oldham University. They have captured every detail, nook and feature of the old building’s Lecture Theatre facade.

- The Love Letter to Oldham dome will be in the Gallery Oldham foyer. This is your chance to contribute to a fantastic community writing project capturing everything we love about our local area.

Find out more, just contact Gallery Oldham on 0161 770 4653.
