To commemorate 100 years since the end of the First Woeld War, live@thelibrary is hosting a series of talks and performances about Oldham during the war from the frontline to the homefront.
With the outbreak of the First World War large numbers of women and children came together at local churches to make socks, gloves and bandages for soldiers. This talk tells the story of one such society based around a rare collection of personal archives.
