Oldham Poets: The First World War in Verse with Oldham Theatre Workshop
Wednesday October 3 , 6:00pm
To commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War, live@thelibrary is hosting a series of talks and performances about Oldham during the war from the frontline to the homefront.
Local newspapers, the Oldham Chronicle and the Oldham Standard, published a large number of poems written by soldiers at the front and civilians at home. This performance traces the story of the First World War through the verse of these Oldham poets.
