To commenmorate 100 years since the end of the First World War, live@thelibrary is hosting a series of talks and performances about Oldham during the war from the frontline to the homefront.

Following the German invasion of Belgium in August 1914, thousands of Belgian soldiers and civilians fled to Britain. This talk tells the story of the refugees who found sanctuary in Oldham.
