See Oldham in a new light, as our light arts festival returns for its sixth year. Captivating artworks and performances will be brought to life, by the imaginations of artist from across the UK.

Explore the illuminated townscape from Gallery Oldham and Oldham Library, through to the historic Old Town Hall, Oldham Parish Church and on to the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

The line-up includes:

Monday 13 – Saturday 18 February 
Luke Jerram’s Mars, 10am – 4pm, Queen Elizabeth Hall 

Saturday 18 February
Illuminate Light Night and Parade, 6 – 9pm, across Oldham town centre

Sunday 19 February
NEW EVENT - Under-Wonder - Paper Trail Collective at Northern Roots, 5.30pm – 8pm, Northern Roots

Workshops for illuminate

Take part in Illuminate and join us for free family lantern workshops on Saturday 4 and Saturday 11 February between 10am and 4pm, Oldham Library and Gallery Oldham.

During the half term holidays you can join Illuminate themed family activities on Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 February between 10am and 4pm, at Oldham Library and Gallery Oldham.

Road Directions

FREE PARKING in all Oldham Counciul car parks from 3pm to midnight for the Illuminate Festival on 21st February 2020.

Council owned town centre car parks: Civic Centre, Waterloo Street, Southgate Street, Bow Street, Bradshaw Street, Rock Street, Tommyfield (No Return Within 3 Hours) and New Radcliffe Street

Public Transport Directions

Access to Oldham town has never been easier thanks to Metrolink. The town centre line has three stops – Oldham Mumps, Oldham Central and Oldham King Street – meaning the many shops, attractions, events and leisure offer is all within a short distance.
