Tickets are now on sale for what is going to be the biggest celebration of the best choral and brass band music in the northwest.

When two of Saddleworth's oldest societies, Saddleworth Musical Society and Boarshurst Silver Band come together under one roof, you're guaranteed a night to remember.

There'll be all the drama of O Fortuna from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and a suite of some of the best known songs from Gilbert and Sullivan.

A moving sequence of music in remembrance of VE day 75 years ago which will include the haunting Hymn to the Fallen and a re-creation of the moment when the Military Wives first sang for the Festival of Remembrance.

Along with other items from African Sanctus to Wagner's Tannhäuser and a host of favourites complete the evening's entertainment.

Two of Saddleworth's oldest societies, Saddleworth Musical Society under the musical direction of Peter Wakefield and Boarshurst Silver Band under the musical direction of James Garlick, have teamed up for the first time for a Spring Concert full of the best music for choir and brass band.
