All the Saddleworth villages are within 10 minutes’ drive and with the added on Deli; Farm & Coffee Shop make for a fabulous day out. The Rams Head Inn at Denshaw and has been owned by the Haigh family for over 30 years. Being over 450 years old it sits at 1212ft above sea level and enjoys panoramic views of the Saddleworth moors towards Rochdale, Oldham & Manchester.

Inside much is as it has always been; memorabilia fills the room, oak settles, informal dining tables and chairs, wonderful roaring real fires and stoves. However, moving with the times, from just serving beer and ale, The Rams Head decided to serve fine pub food and is one of the original “gastro pubs” Using farm assured meats, the freshest seafood and game in season, the accolades speak for themselves – Lancashire Life magazine Pub Food of the Year Award, AA recommended, City Life Magazine, les Routiers, Which Guide and Alisdair Sawdays. Our food is seasonal and often with a modern twist, but with a few traditional favourites always available. There is a great range of wines and champagnes, with many wines served by the glass. Hand pulled Real Ale always available. Drinkers are as much welcome as diners so no need to eat just call for a drink.

All food businesses are inspected by the council and given a food hygiene rating based on their compliance with the legal requirements for hygiene, structural condition and confidence in the management.  A business is rated from 5 for very good through to 0 for those premises that need to improve urgently.  Food hygiene ratings give an indication of the overall level of food hygiene compliance.  We recommend you check a business’s food hygiene rating so you can make informed choices about where to buy and eat food. All Oldham food business ratings are on the Food Standards Agency website http://ratings.food.gov.uk/QuickSearch.aspx
