Health Walks

Walk your way to health this year with Let’s go for a walk, a new joint initiative launched by Oldham Council and Oldham Community Health Services.

Launched on Monday 1 March, Let’s go for a walk aims to encourage people to take those first steps to a healthy lifestyle. With free guided walks being held across 11 of Oldham’s fantastic parks and countryside sites, this new initiative is a great way to have fun and get active.

Health walk incentive scheme

Oldham Council and Oldham Community Health Services will deliver free led walks in 11 parks and countryside sites across Oldham. The first 200 participants to sign up will be able to take advantage of a walk incentive scheme, where they can receive outdoor goodies for distances covered at 3k, 6k and 12k.

The scheme launches on Monday 1 March 2010 and will run on a two week cycle for 42 weeks. Participants on the scheme can do any of the walks in this two week cycle.
