Walk in and you will be greeted at the serpentine bar at The Shalimar, Uppermill, where our talented waiters can entertain you with pre-dinner drinks and an array of Indian street food and tapas. Later, you can lounge here with luxurious deserts, coffees and liqueurs. 

Indian Cuisine is a combination of subtle tastes. Fragrant and exotic spices from India are delicately blended to create the dishes presented to you by one of the most experienced chefs in the UK. The dishes are of the Northern Indian and Bangladeshi origin and are prepared in the Shalimar exactly as in our own homes.

Loyal to its local roots, The Shalimar is working where possible with seasonal produce from local farmers and growers. Opting for organic ingredients and low-mileage food, The Shalimar makes a commitment to sustainability. With Indian grills, low-fat options and healthy dressings, the new menu promises to be good for you as well as the environment!

Our customers are special to us. That is why we have carefully picked our dishes and we will freshly prepare and cook them for you in the finest traditional way. Any dish that does not appear on the menu can be served on request.

We pride ourselves on presenting a superior, A La Carte menu that represents choice, variety and of course quality. All dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients each day. Unlike the majority of “Indian” restaurants our dishes truly reflect the diversity of cooking styles, and ingredients from the length and breadth of the wonderful and vibrant Indian Subcontinent. We are also able to offer a selection of our dishes prepared as low calorie, healthy eating option – please ask for details.
