Desi Lounge is a favourite Indian restaurant for many in Manchester and Oldham. Renowned chef Mr Shokat Ali has over 25 years of experience and since 2005 the custom-built Failsworth premises have been serving diners to their delights.

Mr Shokat and his team pride themselves on offering the highest standard of traditionally cooked Asian dishes from the Indian Subcontinent. His hand-picked team of award winning chefs are trained in Asia and only use the finest ingredients to produce an array of authentic menus and culinary delights.

Every dish from the menu can be adapted to suit any palate. An extensive specially selected wine list is constantly updated to complement the restaurants menus. The Desi Lounge is designed in a contemporary style offering the perfect ambiance for an enjoyable eating out experience for any occasion. Ideal for a romantic dinner, birthday celebration, family get- together or a work’s night out – It is best to book early to avoid disappointment.

The Desi Lounge Restaurant has won many culinary awards for its cuisine, Its famous signature dish the ‘The ‘Desi Special’ – a slow-cooked chicken dish in a spicy yoghurt based masala sauce cooked with cashew nuts and fried onions is an all-time favourite with the regular clientele. The `Lamb Haandi’, a speciality from the Punjab cooked in a traditional Haandi pot is a close second to The Desi Lounge Special. The extensive list of starters includes favourites such as lamb chops in a special masala sauce and `Chicken Bhuna on Puri’. Starters range from £2.50 to £5.95, main courses from £5.95 to £14.50 and desserts from £2.50 to £5.50.

We have a function room that can cater for up to 50 people. It provides the perfect setting for all special occasions such as a small wedding, christening, engagement, anniversary and birthday party. The room can also be adapted for a more formal business setting such as a conference, product launch or office party. The restaurant also provides secure parking.

In addition the Desi Lounge team can also cater for any outdoor or off-site event. No event is too big or too small for the experts at Desi Lounge; they can develop a bespoke package to any brief or budget.
