Description
The Weavers Factory is a Grade II-listed contemporary art gallery in Saddleworth with a gift shop, workshop, tea bar, garden and two galleries. They launch a new art exhibition on the first weekend of every month and hold weekly creative workshops in their Loom Shop Gallery.
Open 10am to 4pm Thursday to Sunday
Disabled access: Unfortunately, due to the building being Grade-II listed, there is no lift in the building. Ground floor street access is also restricted due to the nature of the building’s relationship to the streetscape. The entrance has an 8-inch step leading to a 36-inch wide public footpath, making a ramp installation impossible.
Road Directions
This Grade-II listed building is located in the centre of Uppermill, Greater Manchester. It is just just seven miles from Manchester city centre and less than an hour from Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Hull, Bradford and Preston. The gallery is easily accessible by both car and public transport.
Car: Free parking is available in the adjacent New Street Car Park, the nearby Saddleworth Pool and at five other car parks in the centre of Uppermill. (NB: New Street itself is a busy street with a 30-minute limit so please park in the neighbouring streets without time limits)
