Little Owl Farm

Description

Little Owl Farm is located on the outskirts of Delph just off the A627 and is easy to get to. It is well signposted and there is large car park on site. Entry into the farm is £10 for a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) and this includes 2 buckets of food to feed the animals. Extra food is charged at 50p per bucket. 

Little Owl Farm is home to a peacock, goats, rabbits, donkeys, chickens, pigs, fish and ducks. Not forgetting the 2 very beautiful and majestic owls and the owner’s own lovely Dalmatian. There are a number of purpose built enclosures both indoors and outdoors, ensuring that the animals are comfortably housed and not overcrowded.     

The staff are on hand to help and answer any questions you have passing on both their extensive knowledge and their passion for caring for animals.  The farm is a great size for young children. They can easily wander around the farm; and as the car park is at the top of the hill, you can relax knowing the children are a safe distance away from any cars. Children are actively encouraged to get up close to the animals. They are able to go inside the rabbit’s enclosure and the chickens and some younger goats are free to roam as they wish.

There is a small café selling reasonably priced food and drinks.  On summer days there is even a separate place to get ice cream from!  Should you wish to take your own food there is a dedicated picnic area just down from the car park.

During the school holidays the farm has a different theme every week and depending on what day you go you may be lucky enough to meet some additional creatures.  At an extra cost the children can partake in a craft activity. The farm is home to seasonal fares throughout the year that showcases some of the best local businesses the area has to offer and at Christmas they even have a visit from the man in the red suit!
