Walk and Ride Festival
South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival, 8 to 23 September 2012
The South Pennine Walk and Ride festival is being launched on 8 and 9 September with a two day extravaganza across the Saddleworth villages. Kick starting a fortnight of walking, cycling and horse-riding activity across the Pennine countryside between Oldham, Kirklees, Rochdale, Calderdale, Bradford and East Lancashire.
This year’s festival theme is “Supporting Local Businesses” such as such as tearooms, garden centres, pubs, cycle shops, and museums. So there will be an emphasis during the festival on involving local businesses in the events such as having afternoon tea walks, a sponsored horse ride using local riding stables and farm shop open days.
If you would like to hold a walk, cycle, mountain bike or horse riding event as part of the festival please download and fill in the expressions of interest form (pdf) and send it back to Jan Robinson festival co-ordinator no later than 30 April 2012. Details of how to do this are on the bottom of the form.
For further information about the festival visit the Walk and Ride Festival website (external site) or contact Jan Robinson on 01422 846048 or by e-mail Jan.Robinson@pennineprospects.co.uk
