Saddleworth Moor
Breathe in the fresh air and experience the rugged beauty of Saddleworth Moor with its high rolling moorland and ever changing dramatic landscape.
Dispersed around the moors are picturesque villages, each with their own unique Pennine character.
The superb scenery of Saddleworth Moor provides the perfect backdrop for walkers. The Saddleworth Circuit is a 4 mile walk (6.5km) walk taking in the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, country lanes, weavers cottages and Saddleworth church before returning through the village of Uppermill. Try the 7 mile (11km) Saddleworth Cycle and Horse Riding Trail and wind your way along the Roman Roads and pack horse trails.
You’ll find Saddleworth Tourism Information Centre at the Saddleworth Museum, at the entrance and adjacent to the Museum Shop.
