Gardening

Discover Oldham’s breathtaking scenery and open spaces throughout the seasons. From historic Alexandra Park to the outstanding natural beauty of The National Peak District, you’ll be spoilt for choice all year round.

May reveals swathes of woodland bluebells and summer opens up a riot of colour across the town centre’s award-winning parks and gardens. As the seasons grow autumn tints of wind-blown oaks make way for the wonder of winter landscapes.

If your passion is horticultural cultivation then Oldham has a diverse array of allotment sites for public use. The Bloom and Grow initiative supports local communities to develop skills that will help improve the area and benefit the environment.

Grow your own!

Calling all budding gardeners! Every fortnight Bloom and Grow 2010 will be bringing you ‘Grow Your Own’, a new feature highlighting a range of handy hints and tips for the green fingered gardeners out there looking to produce some delicious vegetables this summer.
